A safe space for people living with HIV to connect, share experiences, find support, and build meaningful relationships.
How do I create an account?
Download the app from our website, tap Register, and fill in your details. You'll need to verify your email before using the platform.
Is my information private?
Yes. Your privacy matters to us. All personal information is encrypted and secure. You control what you share and who can see it. Your HIV status stays with you.
What can I do on UbuntuConnect?
You can discover and match with people, join discussions in the Community Hub, book professional counseling sessions, chat privately with matched users, and manage your privacy settings.
Your Account
How do I update my profile?
Go to your Profile screen and tap Edit Profile. You can update your bio, photos, location, and other details anytime.
Can I change my email or password?
Yes. Visit Settings > Account to update your email or change your password. You'll need your current password for security.
How do I delete my account?
Go to Settings > Account > Delete Account. This removes all your data permanently.
I forgot my password
Tap "Forgot Password?" on the login screen, enter your email, and we'll send a reset link.
Privacy & Safety

We've built multiple layers of protection to keep you safe while using UbuntuConnect.
Who can see my profile?
By default, your profile is visible to verified members. Adjust your privacy settings to control visibility, including blurring your photos.
Can I browse invisibly?
Yes. In Privacy Settings, you can control your online status visibility and choose who sees your profile.
How do I block or report someone?
Visit their profile, tap the menu, and choose Block or Report. Our team reviews reports promptly.
Using the App
How does matching work?
Visit Discover to browse profiles. Swipe right to show interest, left to pass. When both users swipe right, it's a match and you can message each other.
Can I message anyone?
You can only message users you've matched with. This helps prevent unwanted messages and ensures mutual interest.
What is the Community Hub?
A forum where members share experiences, ask questions, and support each other. You can post anonymously and engage with the community in a safe space.
How do I book a counseling session?
Go to the Counseling tab, browse available counselors, check their availability, and book an individual or group session directly in the app.
Troubleshooting
The app is running slowly
Try these steps:
1. Close and restart the app
2. Check your internet connection
3. Clear app cache in phone settings
4. Update to the latest version
5. Restart your phone
I'm not receiving emails
Check your spam folder first. Then make sure you entered the correct email and try requesting a new verification link.
Photos won't upload
Check your internet connection and make sure the image is under 5MB in JPG or PNG format. Supported formats: JPG, PNG.
